snowball

Snowball is a medium-miniature or small-standard American Eskimo dog. He's 1 ½ years old, 24 lbs, with biscuit-cream ears and a beautiful white coat. He has been neutered and has had his shots. He is available for adoption.
Snowball would do well in a multi-dog household, or as a singleton dog. He is not dominant, and gets along well with dogs of all sizes. He is very friendly and playful, very loving, and has a charming bouncy step on lead. He was released by his owners directly into a foster home’s care through Rocket Dog Rescue, so he has not spent any time in an animal care and control facility. Snowball's behaviors are typical of an adolescent of this breed, which is actually why he is in rescue. He is an alert, energetic, cheerful, engaging boy who will be extremely loyal and wonderfully loving to the special folks who are or become his very own "eskie people". Eskies simply take more management and control than many small dogs, and their beautiful haircoats are not for the anti-shedding crowd!
Snowball s learning to walk well on lead, is reliably housetrained, and is ready for a home with truly forever people - this time dreaming of someone who won't "give him up" because he is the dog he is. His behaviors with cats are unknown, although eskies aren't often cat-dogs. His friendly, open disposition means he would likely do well in an eskie-wise household with children age 8 or older.
If you have never had an eskie before, first please read about them on the web, and then talk with the rescue volunteers who have eskies of their own, and who can fill you in on some of their general specialness, wonderful as well as challenging, and specifically tell you about Snowball.
If you are an experienced eskie person who wants to open your home and heart to Snowball, he is an amazing little guy who will (as you know) within a week or two love you to the ends of the earth and beyond.

Thanks for considering rescue!
